Many people at Berkeley Lab devote their time and effort to supporting the Lab’s K-12 programs. These volunteers contribute in numerous ways, from conducting virtual tours of the Lab and its facilities to delivering career talks and facilitating hands-on projects.
On October 3, the Lab celebrated the volunteers’ efforts at the Outstanding Mentor & Volunteer Recognition Event. The event was organized by the K-12 Program in the Lab’s Workforce Development and Education Office.
This year, two researchers from the Accelerator Modeling Program at ATAP were honored with the 2023 Outstanding STEM Volunteers awards: Arianna Formenti, a postdoctoral researcher, and Edoardo Zoni, a research scientist.
“Our congratulations to Arianna and Edoardo for their well-deserved awards,” said ATAP Division Director Cameron Geddes. “They exemplify the spirit of volunteerism, and I encourage all of our colleagues to give generously their time and special expertise.”
