BeamNetUS, which is dedicated to advancing particle accelerator research and technology by providing access to beam test facilities across the U.S., is accepting proposals for its pilot program from non-proprietary research from university groups, publicly funded labs, and companies to request experimental time on cutting-edge particle accelerators. The program is set to run in the summer of 2025, with proposals due by 23:59 on January 30, 2025.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) facilities that are part of BeamNetUS include the HiRES, a facility for ultrafast electron diffraction; the Berkeley Lab Laser Accelerator (BELLA) Center Hundred-Terawatt Thomson laser system, which can accelerate electron beams by utilizing two laser amplifier arrays providing 50 terawatt (TW) and 10 TW pulses of up to 40 femtoseconds; and the BELLA Hundred-Terawatt Undulator that can accelerate electron beams in plasma targets using a 50-70 TW laser pulse.
