Kaushalya Jhuria, a postdoctoral researcher in the Accelerator Technology & Applied Physics Division’s Fusion Science & Ion Beam Technology Program at Berkeley Lab, was among 650 young scientists worldwide to be invited to the 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany, from June 30 to July 5.
“It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” says Jhuria, “where I had the opportunity to hear from over 35 Nobel laureates about their work and perspectives on various cutting-edge scientific problems. I was particularly impressed by the ease of networking at this meeting, and my conversations with the laureates and other young scientists were the main highlights for me.”
Established in 1951, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings have evolved into a unique international scientific forum with a global network and far-reaching initiatives. The meetings are a beacon of inspiration, fostering exchange between Nobel Laureates and young scientists and igniting a passion for scientific discovery that transcends borders. They inspire generations of scientists to build sustainable networks of young scientists worldwide, profoundly impacting the global scientific community.
Jhuria said attending the meeting “provided new perspectives on current research trends and potential areas for future projects.”
