Berkeley Lab will host the Science Accelerating Girls’ Engagement in STEM (SAGE) this July. SAGE is a one-week summer camp for public high school students (aged 14-17) in which scientists and engineers from the Lab share what life in STEM professions is like.
The SAGE program is a collaboration between multiple Department of Energy National Labs. It is designed to cater to young women and students of other gender identities underrepresented in STEM.
The program connects them with mentors and provides experience to support a career in STEM. It aims to foster innovation, grow the STEM community, and engage intelligent, creative, and passionate young women in the everyday life of scientists and engineers. Students will participate in job shadowing, hands-on projects, professional development, and more throughout the week.
