Sam Barber is a research scientist in the Accelerator and Technology and Applied Physics Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research interests include the production of high brightness electron beams using novel laser plasma accelerators. Bright electron beams are essential ingredients for producing the world’s brightest sources of x-rays, which in turn serve a broad and diverse scientific community. He received all of his Physics degrees (B.S., M.S and PhD) from UCLA.
